The Gamma Tau Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha was established at Texas Tech University in the year 1953. Since our founding, we have maintained a lodge located at #11 Greek Circle. Our beautiful lodge has just finished being completely remodeled and we could not be more thankful and we are thrilled to finally have a place back on Greek Circle! gamma tau is currently home to over 200 women during their time at Texas Tech and we are the recipient of numerous awards from our International Office and local Panhellenic organization. Our members are not only involved within greek life, but are also involved on-campus in numerous student organizations.
About Zeta Tau Alpha
Zeta Tau Alpha was founded October 15, 1898 at the Virginia State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia. We now have over 290,000 initiated members, 172 active collegiate chapters, and 228 alumnae chapters across the country.
The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation is the philanthropic and fundraising arm of the Fraternity. The Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation leads our efforts in Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, provides more than $1 million in scholarships annually, and sponsors educational and leadership opportunities for our members and others.
The Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity Housing Corporation is the largest in the Panhellenic world and provides safe, secure, and competitive housing for all our collegiate members.
Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life Awards
The Gamma Tau Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha was so incredibly excited and honored to have received four awards from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life here at Texas Tech University for 2023. We received the Academic Achievement Achieved Expectations Award, the CRW Risk Education Award, the Leadership & Member Development Award, and the Philanthropy and Civil Engagement Award. We are so proud of each of our members and all their accomplishments through 2023 and we cannot wait to see what the rest of 2024 has in store for Gamma Tau!
